| This is a single 2242 New Haven powered A unit only, NO B UNITIt has the unique body mold used for New Haven F3's only (see details below)Although the sides are virtually perfect, this unit is graded Very Good (C6) because of significant marks on the silver roof close to the decorative horns. . These were difficult to make show up in e picture but are there if you look closly.Also, you can easily see the marks above the fireman's window and along the curved edge of the roof Although this does not effect operation, the restraining tab on the front truck is missing, allowing it to swing out very wide when not on the trackBuilt from 1958 to 1959, original New Havens are probably the rarest F3's (along with Baltimore and Ohio's)Authentic 2242 New Haven's have a front door mold which is different from all other Lionel F3'sThe door handle was eliminated to provide a solid surface for printing the "NH"Lionel found and sold a bunch of original grey F3 body molds in the late 70's which were used to create fake New Havens and B&O's but these have the door handleThere probably are many more of these fakes in existance than originals!Operation is fully guaranteed.
